The Krugerrand gold coin is the world's first modern bullion coin. It was first minted in 1967. Paul Kruger, a former president of the Republic of South Africa and the coin's namesake, is depicted on one side. The other side shows a springbok, a national symbol of South Africa. The characteristic reddish color comes from the copper, which is contained in the coin in addition to the ounce of gold. A special feature of the Krugerrand is that it has no nominal value. These characteristics make the coin highly recognizable on the international market.
The coins are minted at the Rand Refinery. The mint was founded in South Africa in 1920. It is one of the most important precious metal refineries in the world and has the exclusive right to mint the Krugerrand. The company has strict ethical and sustainable sourcing guidelines. The Rand Refinery is one of five assessors worldwide that supports the LBMA in maintaining its standards.
The classic coin is an excellent choice for investors looking for a stable and proven investment. The coins are available in the sizes 1/10 oz, ¼ oz, ½ oz and 1 oz. You are guaranteed the price at the time of your order. You will find a summary of your order in your mailbox immediately after placing your order. Also, there is the option to print a summary at the end of the order. We always ask for prompt payment.
After receipt of payment, the items are immediately assembled and packed on camera. Afterwards the dispatch takes place as insured package. We will send you a mail upon receipt of payment. Another mail will be sent to you upon shipment with the shipment number/tracking number. Please check that the shipment is sent directly to you.
Upon receipt of the shipment, check the integrity of the packaging. In case of discrepancies take photos and notify us. The shipment is insured, so you do not bear any risk of loss and theft.
GVS is a global leader in high security storage. If you already have a storage number, you will be asked to specify it before checkout. A new storage contract can also be opened at any time. Silver, Platinum and Palladium can also be stored in a duty-free warehouse. In this case, your purchase is exempt of VAT.
