20 Kronen Gold Franz Joseph
The Austrian krone/crown gold coin is a historically valuable commercial gold coin. As a result of the Austrian currency reform in 1892, the gulden/florin currency was replaced by crowns. However, it was still possible to use gulden as a means of payment until 1900.
The first 10 and 20 crown coins were produced in 1892. It was not until 1908, on the 60th anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I, that 100 crown coins were also produced.
1915 was the last year in which the 100 crown coins were minted. The 20 crowns were produced until 1918, but the restrikes bear the year 1915. Production of the 10 crowns ended in 1912.
The coins show the portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph I on the obverse and the coat of arms of the Austrian Empire on the reverse. Replicas of these coins are available today as commercial gold coins, whereby the date on the coin is usually the year of the last minting.
With the inflation after the First World War, the crown lost much of its value and was replaced by the schilling in 1925. Nowadays, these coins are coveted as investment coins and are among the most frequently found gold coins in inheritance.

After receipt of payment, the items are immediately assembled and packed on camera. Afterwards the dispatch takes place as insured package. We will send you a mail upon receipt of payment. Another mail will be sent to you upon shipment with the shipment number/tracking number. Please check that the shipment is sent directly to you.
Upon receipt of the shipment, check the integrity of the packaging. In case of discrepancies take photos and notify us. The shipment is insured, so you do not bear any risk of loss and theft.
GVS is a global leader in high security storage. If you already have a storage number, you will be asked to specify it before checkout. A new storage contract can also be opened at any time. Silver, Platinum and Palladium can also be stored in a duty-free warehouse. In this case, your purchase is exempt of VAT.
